San Francisco Giants outfielder Barry Bonds, who has been deeply involved in the steroids scandal, is about to crack Henry Aaron’s home run record. There is a good chance, barring injury, that it will take place during the 2007 season. Selig’s avoidance of the event is symptomatic of general fan apathy and malaise that is based not so much on outrage but just indifference.
